Week 5 Term 3

This week, we are learning about 3D shapes. I am setting a challenge for all the students in 1/2 M to make a list of everyday objects that are 3D Shapes. Thomas thought of a good one..a tree trunk is a cylinder! See how many you and your family can find! From Mrs M

It’s Winter and it’s wet and muddy

Students are welcome to bring slippers to wear in class to keep their feet warm when they take their muddy shoes off when they come inside. Also, dont forget to bring hats, scarves and gloves to put on when you go outside to play. Our classroom is warm and toasty and it can be a shock to your body going out into the cold air!       

Term 2

The cfa came to visit. Thanks Jenny and Dave

This term we have been learning about the people who keep us safe like the police, CFA, Ambulance , ses and Health workers. We had Chloe’s Mum speak to us about the SES., Also Dave from the Monbulk Police, Jenny and David from the CFA and Flyn’s Mum (a nurse) came to visit. We appreciate them all coming to speak to us about their important jobs and how they help us.

Term 2 WEEK 1

This week we are learning about Autumn. We have looked at all the different trees at our school and the changing colours of some of the leaves. The trees that have changing leaves are deciduous. The trees that have leaves that stay green all year are called evergreen trees. Tomorrow in assembly we are having a spcial Anzac Service.

Last week of Term One

On Wednesday Ist April we went to Halesville Sanctuary. First we visited the Learning Centre. We saw a sugar glider. Its fur felt really soft. We also saw a python, a green tree frog and some potoroos. The tree frog was very slimy. Outside, we  also saw a tawny frog mouth. Janine-our teacher fed it some cockroaches. We also visited the Birds of Prey display. They were awsome when they swooped over the audeience! It was a great day. Thanks Mrs Cooke for organising the day. We loved it!

Week 3 of March

Last week we learnt about Australian birds. Some people made some fantastic models, others made some brilliant posters. Some smart people also made some great slideshows.

This week we are learning about Australian reptiles. It is lots of fun.

We are lucky to have Miss D visiting our class and she has taken us for some fabulous Maths lessons We have played some terrific adding Maths games.

Week One of March

We have been learning about Australian animals. This week we have been learning about Marsupials. These are mammals that have pouches. These animals are all marsupials….
